Behind the Brand
A fresh new brand run by a wild group of friends from sunny Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Misfire Clothing is dedicated to providing the most unique and softest button-ups on the market. Weather automotive, music, or beach inspired, Misfire looks to the past to create clothing that stands out in the modern day.
How it Began...
"While working a dead-end job at a music store, and having just dropped out of college and selling my money-pit 1985 Corvette (circa 2022), I began tinkering with the idea of starting a clothing brand.
For a while, I struggled to find a true use of my skills. Whether I was recording an EP, creating a guitar lesson YouTube channel, or making short films with my friends, I was almost always missing passion and self-worth.
Luckily one thing I had grown a particular taste for was button-ups. My button-up enthusiasm began with one particular Vans Vault shirt, which featured a repeating pattern of vinyl records. As a musician, I felt a certain desire to rock this shirt, and I struggled to find more button-ups on the market with this particular mix of niche and quality."
Where it's going...
"I soon realized that almost all 'music button-ups' you find for sale are extremely generic, having lazy patterns of music notes and uninspiring guitars. And almost all 'car button-ups' just feature the typical repeating car pattern, which frankly is only meant for oldheads. The button-up marketed needs something fresh and exciting.
Modern and comfortable shirts with beautifully crafted patterns and art-styles. How about instead of just a pattern with pictures of cars, we dig a little deeper... Something in real-life where you might see a car... An arcade game game, featuring a 1980's sports car on the side of the cabinet?
Or how about a shirt with a 1960's luxury car? Lets just not stop at car. Add a landscape that compliments the beauty of the car. Lets park the cars parked in front of mid-century vacation homes, in the California desert? And create a simple color pattern that is both suiting on real-life, and works in context of the landscape. Now this is no longer just a shirt with cars on it, it's wearable art"
